An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust’s Estates & Facilities Division, Facilities Services as the Support Services Manager responsible for Operational Management of our Waste, Logistics, linen & Laundry, Post and Transport departments.
The post is based at the Stepping Hill Hospital site and covers the Devonshire Unit and other community properties of the Trust. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Logistics and Waste linen & Laundry, Post and Transport services in delivering a high quality and efficient provision of Facilities Services to patients, staff and visitors across the Trust.
You will work closely with the Head of Facilities and other Support Service Managers to effectively lead and manage the Logistics and Waste Teams, which includes those staff in Receipt & Distribution, Waste Management, Post Room, Linen, Laundry and Transport as well as covering for other Support Services Managers disciplines as required. You will closely monitor overtime/additional hours worked, budget spend, dealing with HR related matters and in achieving standardisation of working practices, protocols and procedures across site in terms of the Logistics Teams and Waste Management.

The Support Services Manager will be accountable to the Head of Facilities for the operational delivery and provision of a comprehensive range of “Soft FM” Services including Waste management, Receipt & Distribution, Transport, Postal Services, Linen & Laundry and other areas as required. Ensuring exemplar services to patients, visitors and staff.
The post holder has full budget responsibility for Waste Management, Receipt & Distribution, Transport, Linen & Laundry and Postal Services within budget limitations agreed by the Trust.
Working closely with clinical colleagues the post holder will perform an essential role in ensuring the provision of a high-quality patient experience and exceptional levels of patient satisfaction.

The post holder is responsible for the pro-active, preventative management, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Soft FM Services including Waste management, Receipt & Distribution, Transport, Postal Services, Linen & Laundry and other areas as required and systems on the Stepping Hill Hospital and Devonshire Unit sites and other community properties of the Trust.
Ensure all waste practices and procedures are adhered to inclusive of appropriate segregation and recycling compliance.
Take accountability for delivering a high quality, timely, responsive, cost-effective, and pro-active services to meet the needs of the wards and departments.
