Our Client suffered a brain injury due to a road traffic accident and is now left with physical, cognitive and behavioural difficulties. He has Type 1 diabetes for which he is prescribed insulin injections; you will be trained to assist him to manage his diabetes.
Our Client lives in adapted accommodation in the Denton area with his team of Support Workers.
Our Client has his own vehicle which you will drive on behalf of the client to enable to access activities within the community.
You will need to be able to work a combination of day and night shifts on a rotational basis covering 7 days a week (average 42 Hours per week). You will need to be flexible to cover sickness and holidays of other team members.
You will need to be motivated and enthusiastic person required, with a commitment to promoting and maintaining an independent lifestyle for a young man with an acquired brain injury. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills within diabetes, brain injury, and challenging behaviours, while delivering care with him in his own home environment.
Undertaking a range of duties to support the Client, you will work closely with other members of the team to provide the highest standards of health care.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, backed by previous health care experience, although full training will be given to those with the right approach and attitude.
The post requires that you work independently and as part of a team. The post therefore requires that you work and conduct yourself in a professional manner that is acceptable to the employer. Reliability, integrity and complete trustworthiness are essential attributes in this post.
