Alecto Recruitment are working with a leader in the gasification sector to offer the exciting opportunity to work as a Sustainability and Environmental officer.
Package:
45,000 - 50,000 DOE
Mon - Fri 40 hours
Working: 10 am - 4pm
Responsibilities
Undertake briefings on sustainability, environmental standards, and expectations.
Provide directly and encourage others to provide recommendations for improving Sustainability and Environmental performance in the workplace.
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual IMS reports, statistics and presentations related to S&E performance.
Ensure that the environmental emergency plans are communicated to staff and visitors and update registers on training and induction.
Developing systems to achieve compliance with ISO 14001.
Conduct audits of the Safe Systems of Work.
Delivering in-house H&S Training.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
A recognised Environmental Sciences or Sustainability degree or equivalent experience & qualifications.
Knowledge of ISO 14001 requirements and Integrated Management Systems
Understanding of the requirements and how to comply with the Environmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations 2016.
Understanding of greenhouse gas assessments and lifecycle analysis.
Understanding of the criteria for assessing the sustainability of wastes, crops and biomass residues.
Ability to use and modify Microsoft files (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams).
Ability to take a leading role in, and champion plant safety.
Ability to work safely, and to ensure the safety of others, complying with all safety assessment requirements.
Ability to take a leading role in and champion site Sustainability and Environmental standards.
Ability to provide training and direction to others.
Ability to work as part of a team and to work independently.
Work innovatively to provide solutions to challenges.
Ideally experience in similar operational environment.
Experience in engagement with the Environment Agency
Exposure to and experience in implementation of/compliance with ISO 14001 and ISCC standards
Familiarity with basic statistical analysis (mean, min, max, comparison, running average, etc.).
