Job description

Role: Administration Assistant

Department: Operational Support Unit

Location: Maltby

Salary: £23,121 - £24,921 (pro rata)

Hours: 18.5       

Contract Type: Permanent

We are looking for an Administration Assistant to join the Safety Camera & Ticket Processing Team. In this role you will undertake the viewing/processing of offences of speeding or contravening red traffic lights or other traffic offences captured by camera or submitted via tickets and associated tasks.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Record and process all notices dealt with by this department using the appropriate computer software packages.
  • Complete opening, scanning and verification of incoming correspondence received by Safety Cameras and Ticket Processing on the appropriate systems.
  • Undertake verification duties, paying a high level of attention to detail when processing incoming responses to offences by validating the data provided.
  • Prepare prosecution files for Magistrates Court ensuring the quality is of a high standard and analysing the quality of evidential content in accordance with Manual of Guidance.

Skills and experience:

  • Clerical/Administrative experience in a busy, fast paced office environment.
  • Experience of Windows based computer systems.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information and record data accurately.
  • Be able to demonstrate investigative skills.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
