I am seeking a Systems Accountant to develop and manage systems and processes for the effective and efficient processing of financial and non-financial data. The role involves collaborating with IT and Finance staff to meet business requirements and working closely with the Finance Team to ensure the effective delivery of its overall aims.
Day to day of the role:- Oversee the implementation of our new Finance Software Business Central.
- Act as the finance link with project managers and developers, troubleshooting system issues.
- Resolve interface conflicts, review systems performance, and ensure reliable operation.
- Onboard users to Finance related systems and maintain system performance.
- Identify and implement system improvements and internal training with the Finance team.
- Document and test all changes to finance systems.
- Review and streamline finance systems processes to reduce manual intervention.
- Integrate multiple interfaces to Business Central, such as CRMs and credit card portals.
- Instil a culture of robust control and efficiency throughout Finance and the wider organisation.
- Develop policies and procedures for all finance systems.
- Liaise with external stakeholders and ensure adherence to financial controls and document retention policies.
- Support the Deputy Director of Finance in enforcing internal financial controls.
- Reduce reliance on spreadsheets and offline financial information.
- Deliver system training for finance and non-finance staff.
- Develop management reports to inform Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees.
- Undertake ad hoc projects to fulfil our Organisational Strategy.
- Degree in commerce, business, accounting or IT.
- Qualified with recognised CCAB/CIMA accounting qualification or Qualified by Relevant Experience.
- Good knowledge of ERP products.
- Understanding of financial controls and workflows on financial systems.
- Advanced software skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including training abilities.
- Strong analytical, numeric, and critical reasoning skills.
- Ability to network and collaborate effectively.
- Articulate the value of a finance function in supporting business decisions.
