Experienced Engineer from System Development/Systems Engineering/Trials Development background
BTEC HNC/HND, Masters level (working towards Chartered) or equivalent professional Experience Essential
IT proficient with CAD, SolidWorks 2022 Experience of benefit.
Role
Supporting the growth of the business through support to proficient and innovative design and development across its product and client portfolio.
As the Systems Engineer your role will be cross functional supporting Design, development, Production Engineering and Test and trials activity across internal and subcontract teams.
Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary field of engineering and engineering management that focuses on how to design, integrate, and manage complex systems over their life cycles.
Specifically in this role the Systems Engineer will be asked to asked to determine problems within systems. Develop and identify solutions for issues they find in the process, including determining test & trials activity to enhance the engineering process in designing new systems, upgrading hardware and maintaining existing systems.
The Systems Engineer will support the QAM and functional safety teams in discovering the real problems that need to be resolved, and identifying the most probable or highest impact failures that can occur—Systems Engineering involves finding solutions to these problems.
The candidate will have a proven background in problem solving within high pressure environments.
Experience of Automotive legislative and compliance testing and program development for vehicles and sub-systems will be of Benefit.
- Military and/or specialist automotive Development and Testing background
- Experience/knowledge of VSAG, DEF-STAN & Mil-Std testing
- Experience with high voltage electric vehicles of benefit
- Experience of unmanned ground vehicles of benefit
- Experience in engineering of Specialist vehicles essential
- Knowledge of Powertrain integration of benefit
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent technical knowledge
- Good teamworking skills
- The ability to prioritise and plan effectively
- A high level of computer literacy
- Good commercial awareness

Responsibilities
Supporting the Engineering teams in the Design and Development of automotive platforms to meet SRD or project specifications.
Analysing problems and developing ideas and designs to solve them.
Work closely with project staff to achieve deadlines
Working within the budget to deliver safe and efficient products on time.
Allocating resources and time effectively.
Analysing data Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external meetings.
Engage with supply chain, test facilities and other external resources.
Networking and collaborating with other engineers and professionals.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Attending and hosting peer review meetings and providing input and updates.
Communicating with staff, directors, and clients.
Reporting to Technical Director and QAM.
The above are 2–3-year, degree educated (or equivalent) and with similar standard terms as other roles – work in UK, security, etc. as a basic advert.
Experience of military/specialist vehicles (as per other adverts)
Willing and able to travel, including middle east.
