Talent Acquisition and HR OfficerDevonGBP28,000 - GBP31,000 per annum
Our client, a prominent accountancy practice in the South West region, is actively searching for a dynamic individual to join their HR, Recruitment and Training team as a Talent Acquisition and HR Officer.
This role, reporting to the Head of Human Resources and collaborating closely with two other Officers, serves as the lead in overseeing end-to-end recruitment processes, attracting key talent, and implementing resourcing solutions. While the role primarily focuses on recruitment, it also involves some HR and Learning and Development responsibilities, making it suitable for someone who enjoys diversity in their role.
This position allows for remote work most of the time and is open to being based at any of our clients offices in Devon and Somerset on a hybrid working basis. However, flexibility is required for occasional travel to all locations in the Southwest to support the team.
The ideal candidate should be outgoing, positive, and resilient, demonstrating strong conscientiousness, flexibility, organisational skills, and maintaining a discreet, professional, team-oriented approach.
The responsibilities:
- Weekly strategic planning and review of all recruitment matters with the Head of Human Resources.
- Drafting and publishing recruitment advertisements.
- Collaboration with recruitment agencies, including negotiating terms and handling invoices.
- Working closely with the marketing department for social media recruitment presence and posts.
- Daily review and processing of job and work experience applications, ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Coordinating tests and interviews for candidates.
- Managing communication with candidates, including offers, contractual information, and regrets.
- Attendance at career events, including universities, schools, and colleges.
- Responsibility for the IRIS HR Recruitment system and training new recruitment managers.
- Joint responsibility with HR and L&D Officer for IRIS HR Professional system usage and training.
- Creation and production of periodic reports for the Head of Human Resources, including HR KPIs.
- Managing new starters' processes and tracking, including communication emails, references, compliance, and employment files.
- Tailoring induction plans for each new starter up to and including Manager level.
- Maintaining HR templates, including employment contracts.
- Handling disciplinary matters, grievances, and appeals when required.
- Managing leaver's processes, including exit interviews.
- Administration and support for training facilitation.
The candidate:
- Access to own transport for travel to all offices.
- Flexibility to cover other team members' absence.
- Strong IT, Microsoft Office, and presentation skills.
- Minimum of 2 years recent recruitment experience at a similar level, including the use of an Applicant Tracking System.
- Ideally, experience with IRIS HR/Cascade Go/Octopus HR system and professional services recruitment.
- Recruitment or CIPD qualification beneficial but not essential.
