This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused talent manager to build a people plan across attraction, development, organisational capability and succession strategies to do this.

Supporting the future skills agenda in the Nuclear sector needs a forward-thinking approach to the design, development and implementation of talent systems and processes. The role will focus on embedding learning and talent systems to ensure that: capability is grown and developed; a culture of continuous learning is strengthened; and a pipeline of talent is available to meet NNL skills requirements and business strategy.

Main Responsibilities for Talent Development Manager:

  • Project manage the design and delivery of career development interventions and learning solutions to support business performance and capability.
  • Collaborate with wider HR team and internal stakeholders to understand succession planning, talent gaps and development interventions in support of the talent strategy.
  • Implement a comprehensive talent management system to retain and develop talent.
  • Understand individuals learning needs and to provide fair and open opportunities to all through a forward-thinking Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
  • Oversee NNL’s digital learning and talent systems, ensuring continued accessibility and improvements for user experience.
  • Lead on the future development of digital resources to increase access to company-wide development opportunities and enable individuals to manage their own career development.
  • Work with wider HR team to ensure the business priorities are met with defined budgets and resources; ensuring compliance with contracting authority procurement policies.
  • Deputise where appropriate for the Head of Talent and Development.
  • Provide support/guidance and tools for use with employees, to ensure they have a realistic career path and develop a pipeline of talent to fulfil future organisational requirements.
  • Act as a main point of contact for our HR Operations team; provide advice and guidance to all stakeholders, as a subject expert in talent acquisition, management and career development
  • Identify future training needs analysis for leadership development and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Utilise and develop talent data and analytics to identify trends and insights to measure the impact of talent intiatives and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancements.

Essential Criteria for Talent Development Manager:

  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent with a relevant professional institute).
  • Experience of managing talent/learning processes with responsibility for development and implementation of talent and development strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of current talent and learning practices, concepts, principles, methods and techniques.
  • Experience of methods to support Leadership development and the use of assessment, psychometrics and development tools.
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure, whilst providing exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and respectively challenge.
  • Experience of training delivery and coaching would be advantageous.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).
