Tax Officer

Your new company
Global, Japanese Headquartered Bank is looking to recruit a Tax Officer for its small team based in the City.
Your new role
Responsible for preparing computations for various tax (mainly corporation tax) related calculations. Assisting the senior Tax and Regulatory Accountant mainly on tax related tasks and occasionally on projects such as Transfer Pricing analysis and planning, research on new regulations for domestic and international tax related topics.
1. Daily Operations:
a) To prepare Corporation Tax computations for quarterly payment instalments and Tax returns and to prepare tickets including payment instructions for the payments and notifications to HMRC.
b) To prepare Tax Return related documents such as HO management charges, Transfer Pricing calculations, Branch Expenses calculations etc.
c) To prepare other tax related reports such as FATCA/CRS, Corporate Criminal Offence risk assessments, and HO tax report etc.
d) To assist the senior staff on other administrative tasks in relation to Corporation tax and Tax regulations.
e) To cover accounting tasks at busy time as well as in the absence of the other team members.
2. Projects:
a) To provide preliminary research for new regulations (e.g. BEPS, Domestic Top Up Tax, MDR etc) and to analyse impact on the bank's business to report to the senior staff and liaise with the external tax advisors.
b) To summarise the tax and regulations news from organisations such as external advisors and Tax Journals to report to the team and the branch's management.
3. Planning
a) To organise and plan the tax related work and new regulations, including consultation with the external advisors/HO.
4. Communication
a) To liaise with group companies (HO, other branches and subsidiaries) and external advisers on tax related issues.
What you\'ll need to succeed
You will likely be in the early stages of an accountancy or tax qualification. You will adaptable, hands on and willing to learn.
