About the Role Harrogate College are recruiting for a Hairdressing Teacher to join our team. This role will be based in our Hairdressing Salon and you will be be working and teaching students up to and including level 3. We are looking for a candidate who is committed, organised and passionate about the Hairdressing industry and passing on their knowledge to others. The department is well established and the vacancy has come about from internal progression - the right candidate will bring expertise and a complimentary specialism, as well as be able to adapt to work within the current team. What You Will Do The role involves all aspects of teaching, including the preparation of resources, delivery, marking and assessing along with fundamentals linked to supporting students in a pastoral context as well as ensuring the safety of all.   You will also be required to track progress and provide appropriate student interventions as required. You will also be involved in the recruitment and interviewing of students to populate your course for the following year. We are looking for a candidate who is committed, organised and passionate about the hairdressing industry and in passing on their knowledge to others. You may already have experience in a teaching role, or have industry experience and are looking to move into a teaching career. About You Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) or be prepared to work towards this. Relevant hairdressing qualifications up to and including level 3. Knowledge of current teaching practices and experience of utilising a range of practices to enhance learner journey and progression, would be desirable.
