We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Maths Teacher with excellent subject knowledge to join our Maths team. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom teacher, with the ability to teach maths across all key stages, including the possibility of teaching A Level. We welcome applications from those without prior A level experience with the knowledge and ability to learn quickly to develop skills in this area. Applications are welcome from newly qualified ECT Teachers or a more experienced Teacher.
The Maths Faculty at St Katherine’s is a supportive and dedicated team, committed to developing their pedagogy and sharing the very best practice across the team. We believe that Maths is an exciting subject and numeracy should be central to a young person’s curriculum. We seek to deliver lessons which challenge all students, underpinned by Rosenshine principles. The student lies at the heart of the assessment process and we use a wide range of formative and summative approaches to support learning.
We are ambitious for every child. We have introduced a mastery scheme of work at KS3 and offer students the opportunity to study Level 2 Further Maths at GCSE. At A Level, we offer both Maths and Further Maths. We provide a number of enrichment opportunities based around STEM to inspire and motivate mathematicians for the future.
St Katherine’s is an oversubscribed and successful school with a strong sense of community.
We are located in a lovely rural setting on the edge of Bristol. Our thriving, diverse community is founded on our core values of respect, responsibility and resilience; we actively encourage everyone within our community to ‘live and breathe’ our values every day. The school aims to create an environment where all students feel confident, secure and valued to help them perform at their best.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts at Cathedral Schools Trust are subject to pre-employment checks including, but not limited to, initial and periodic enhanced level checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Interviews will take place week commencing w/c 29 April 2024
We reserve the right to appoint before the deadline for an exceptional candidate.
