About The Service Bryn y Deryn is currently a KS4 Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) for 90 learners who have behavioural, emotional, mental health and social difficulties. We are expanding in September – Do you want to be part of this exciting new offer? We are looking to recruit a team of teachers for our new KS3 provision that will cater for an additional 90 learners.
About the job Bryn y Deryn provides education and wellbeing for learners with challenging behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Carnegie Centre provides education and wellbeing for learners with anxiety-based school avoidance. High quality learning and excellent care, support and guidance are at the heart of our school. As is a commitment to trauma informed approaches. These roles will be based at the key stage 3 provision, which is temporarily going to be located at Fitzalan High School. Teachers will be expected to deliver across the breadth of areas of learning experience and will follow a model similar to primary school.
What We Are Looking For From You The successful applicant will work as part of a team and have some previous experience of working with learners who have behaviour social and mental health problems and be able to empathise with pupils’ difficulties. They will be able to provide teaching and learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual learners. This is an opportunity for persons with empathy, energy, commitment and enthusiasm to make a positive impact to the school and young people. Additional information This post is part time and will work 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year and will therefore be pro-rata’d accordingly. These posts pay an additional ALN allowance of £548.16 per annum. These posts have a requirement for registration with the Education Workforce Council. These posts are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
