Prep School Teaching Assistant

Location: Portsmouth High School GDST, Kent Road, Southsea

Required From: May 2024 (or earlier)

Contract Term: Permanent

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Weeks worked: Term time only (plus 10 days during holiday periods)

Salary: GDST Regional Support Grade 2 (from £22,464 pro rata ie: £18,821 pa)

The role:

Portsmouth High School has a vacancy for a term time only Teaching Assistant at our thriving Prep school. It is essential that an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent full and relevant qualification) is held.

This is a full-time position during school term time only. Hours of work will be 07:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday (with one early finish each week). The role will initially be based in Early Years.

The successful candidate will help deliver the School’s aims and objectives by supporting wellbeing, teaching and learning; they will provide assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the Prep Leadership Team. They will also join our dedicated team running the school’s breakfast club provision.
