anzuk Education is proud to partner with a friendly and supportive two form entry primary school near Staines, to help recruit a Teaching Assistant. They need someone for 10 weeks between May 13th – July 18th 2024. The successful Teaching Assistant will support a reception class alongside an outstanding teacher.
The school is looking for a passionate, outgoing Teaching Assistant who will assist the class teacher with day–to–day activities. The school is rated 'GOOD' by Ofsted. The school has fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities to inspire learning. They would like a Teaching Assistant who will be a great addition and continue to help offer a friendly, nurturing and supportive learning environment for their children.
What does a Teaching Assistant role involve?
Assisting the classroom teacher with general day–to–day activities Working on a 1:1 basis with a student or assisting in group work Helping set up activities Provide academic and social support to students Ensuring students stay on task and clarify instructions where necessary Duties may include general school tasks like preparing resources, arranging learning spaces, and supervising break and lunchtimes Some roles may involve providing support to children with special needs, such as Social, Emotional & Mental Health, Autism, and Speech and Language Communication Needs Collaborate with the Class teacher to monitor and report on children's progress The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience working with children with, ideally in a school or educational setting Some knowledge of different types of special educational needs and strategies for supporting students with those needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and to take direction from teachers and other senior staff Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing needs and priorities A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people Requirements:
An Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one through anzuk An up–to–date CV outlining employment covering the last 10 years Some experience of working with students in a voluntary or paid capacity is ideal but not necessary Some knowledge of supporting students who have a combination of learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs would be an advantage How to apply:
