2023 has been a great year for Hewett Academy with record breaking GCSE results, 4 pieces of artwork in the Royal Academy, a complete school rebuilding project on the horizon and now an Ofsted grading of “Good with Outstanding features”! With this success has come an increase in pupil numbers that means we now have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring Teaching Assistant to join our committed and hardworking team.
Position will include the following responsibilities, in addition to the full job description (attached)
The role involves:
1 to 1 support for an individual student who requires supervision
working under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff and within the overall ethos of the Academy,
undertaking care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils.
Assisting the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom
The ideal candidate will:
be an inspirational practitioner who is passionate about raising achievement through motivating and inspiring students
be able to establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding accordingly to their individual needs
have good numeracy/literacy skills
have experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
be able to use a range of relevant technology to support learning
The school was graded as rated “Good with Outstanding features” following an exemplary Ofsted inspection in October 2023.
