About the role

  • Endike Academy is looking for an energetic Early Years practitioner to join our successful Foundation Stage team.
  • With support from Teachers/Nursery lead practitioner oversee the resourcing and delivery of teaching and learning, adult focused teaching, child-initiated activities and spontaneous experiences.
  • Work co-operatively with colleagues, other professionals, and agencies to meet the needs of young children and enable them to progress.
  • Plan enabling environments, activities, play opportunities and the (DRET Curriculum) educational programmes to support children’s holistic development through a range of play, creativity, social development and learning.
  • Implement and review activities to support children’s play, creativity, social development and learning.
  • The above principal accountabilities are not exhaustive and may vary without changing the character of the job or level of responsibility.
  • To observe children, assess, plan and record the outcomes, sharing results accurately and confidentially in line with expected statutory framework and DRET assessment policy.
  • The above duties may involve having access to information of a confidential nature, which may be covered by the Data Protection Act. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
  • The postholder must be flexible to ensure the operational needs of the School are met. This includes the undertaking of duties of a similar nature and responsibility as and when required, throughout the various workplaces in the School.

  • 35 Hours/ Term Time/ Permanent

Who we are looking for

Endike Academy is looking to appoint an inspiring and highly driven Early Year Practitioner.

NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience.

GCSE Grade A – C English and Maths

Recent experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age. (2-5 year olds)

A practitioner who can work well as part of a team and is innovative, creative and has a passion for working with young children.

The ability to motivate and challenge, to share good practice and to improve outcomes for children.

To support children’s learning by building strong connections with children and their families.

Have a solid knowledge of child development and be able to engage in high quality interactions, to document children’s significant learning and to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of a high-quality, enabling environment.

To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior leaders.
