Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 3:15pm

Are you passionate about education and committed to supporting students to reach their full potential? We are currently working in partnership with an SEMH Secondary School in Urmston. They are seeking a Teaching Assistant who is creative and enjoys delivering sessions in Arts. The Teaching Assistant position is ideally starting after Easter. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals to take on a new role and suitable for any candidates currently teaching in mainstream to make the transition into something new.

About the school:

Simply Education is currently working in partnership with a Secondary School in Urmston. This SEMH Secondary School provides bespoke learning opportunities for young people aged 11-16 with associated social and communication needs, trauma and attachment and challenging behaviour. The classes are small with no more than 5 students in each class; the school focuses on changing students’ mindset and giving their students all the tools to be successful in their future.

The role:

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join an already established team supporting pupils displaying challenging behaviour. It is not essential to have a Teaching Assistant qualification but individuals must have experience working with young people. Due to the nature of the role the school is ideally looking for a Teaching Assistant OR individuals that have relevant experience working with pupils in a School, Youth Centre, Residential care setting or similar role. Each day will be different from the last therefore being adaptable is very important.

Key responsibilities:

• Building nurturing and meaningful relationships with pupils with SEND

• Experience and a good understanding of behaviour management and how to implement this into your practice

• Understand the different requirements of individual SEN and adapt accordingly

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents effectively.

• Additional skills such as Sport, Music and Art are a bonus
