If you're looking for a role that gives you high-calibre experience of working with amazing neurodiverse children with complex needs, and want to help them strive to become the very best of themselves, this is the role for you!
Woodeaton's students are lively and you'll never have a dull moment, they're also bright, funny, and can challenge many expectations and preconceptions of Autism, ADHD, Tourettes, Dyslexia, and a range of other fascinating differences.
We're recruiting right now, for Enthusiastic Teaching Assistants, HTLAs and other Educational Support roles - particularly from individuals with interests in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Neuro-difference, Teaching, SEN, SEMH, Social Emotional and Mental Health or Behaviour. Right now we're also looking for short-term Exam Invigilation staff - great if you want to get a feel for the school and work out if it's the place for you. While prior experience of working in schools or with young people is helpful, we offer training and support to help you be successful in this role and beyond.
If you're passionate about helping young people who have had tricky school-experiences, and think you'd like to help guide, support, and nurture fantastic, interesting, spirited tweens/teens who don't fit the mould - we want to hear from you! Moreover, if you've any Neurodivergent traits yourself, or struggled in education, or faced your own disadvantages, - quite honestly it can be a huge advantage in building a respectful relationship where students know you "get" them.
Woodeaton Manor School is 5 miles North of Oxford in beautiful countryside. Part-time/flexible hours can be readily negotiated, and can fit around other commitments. Hours can be arranged around family commitments, as the school day finishes at 14:30 (most support staff work 8:20 - 15:00 but earlier start and end times can be arranged.)
We work with many truly incredible children, innovative and creative young people who think differently; we often learn as much from our students as we teach.
