Job overview
The Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service (FOLS) is a community-based service in Sussex providing support to individuals with a mental health issue that relates to their offending/risk behaviour.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working as an administrator for the Forensic Outreach Liaison Service where you will use your skills to support clinical staff from a multitude of backgrounds
Main duties of the job
You will be employed as a Band 4 administrator, based at The Firs Hellingly

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To be responsible for the development of management of effective filing systems, including appointment booking, complex diary management and robust filing systems, adhering to the Trust's policies of file management.
  • Provide a first point of contact for all face to face and telephone enquiries from a broad spectrum of people. This includes taking complex and sensitive telephone calls, listening and guiding callers through a satisfactory response and knowing when to seek appropriate clinician advice. This often involves contact with service users, their carers and advocates and relatives.
  • To provide excellent administrative and secretarial support, using appropriate software packages (this may include audio typing/speed writing/shorthand), working to strict timescales and to a very high standard of accuracy, following correct Trust presentation standards, using appropriate Trust templates. Documents include meeting minutes and agendas, clinical reports and clinical correspondence.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • NVQ 3 in Business & Administration or evidence of equivalent practical experience
  • RSA 3 or equivalent experience and evidence of further practical experience
  • Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above

Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
  • Extensive knowledge of a full range of secretarial procedures
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Previous experience in a similar role
