We are seeking an experienced Rents Team Administrator to join our small, dispersed Rent Team within Housing and Property Services. The Rents Team consists of the Rent Team Leader; two Rent Officers, and a Rents Team Administrator who is reducing their hours from April, which has resulted in us seeking an additional person to join the team to work in conjunction with our Supported Housing Services.
This is a key role where you will be responsible for the collection of the organisation’s rents and other property charges. You will be required to maintain accurate rent accounts on the organisation’s rent management system, including opening and closing rent accounts. You will play an active role in identifying system changes and improvements to support the achievement of targets, referring to the Rent Team Leader for decisions that have wider implications than the day-to-day activities. In addition, you will be working closely with our finance team and building good external relationships with relevant local authority housing departments.
Hybrid role - working two days per week on Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4.30pm, with flexibility to work over other days as required (can be discussed at interview). For the initial induction / settling in period there is an expectation for both days to worked on site, then one day on site / one day working from home.

You will already have experience working in a busy and varied administrative role and competent in using software packages (MS Office applications). You will be an effective communicator at all levels with both colleagues and external partners, a strong team player, with the ability to self-motivate, work using your initiative and prioritise your workload. You will appreciate the need for an eye for detail, have demonstrable experience of reconciling data and other financial information. Some experience in a rent management setting and of working with a computerised rent / payment database (Pyramid) is desirable.
In addition, you will have a basic understanding of the key risks, challenges and opportunities for young people which may impact on their ability to pay rent, along with a basic understanding of supported housing and some knowledge of the external environment in which the YMCA DownsLink Group operates would be advantageous.
