About the role:
We are looking for someone to join our small team dedicated to supporting people to live their lives, have fun and feel good. You will work closely with each person and their families to ensure that their time is spent doing the things that matter to them, as well as discovering new things to do.
Role responsibilities include: rostering staff rotas and ensuring that your staff are appropriately trained, support to families and staff supervision. In addition to managing the supported living service you will be expected to participate in On-Call rota.
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of relevant legislation and the ability to work autonomously, prioritise, exercise discretion, use initiative, work to our values and resolve conflict. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and competencies in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) are vital for this role.
Your main role will be supporting a young male in his own home on a 2 to 1 basis. He has interested in the weather and enjoys discussing local and national weather reports and spends lots of time outdoors measuring the wind and requires support to stay safe while doing so.
He is also interested in radios and attends a monthly radio club where he enjoys talking to people around the world. He currently attends some social groups weekly and enjoys visiting the library and utilising the internet for weather related stories and articles.
He is exceptionally friendly and enjoys meeting new people and trying out new activities.
He enjoys spending regular time with his family and positive support around this is essential.
Hours:
Full time- 39 hours. Please only apply if you are able to work full time hours. Shifts will vary depending on the needs of the person you are supporting.
Location:
20 min drive from Sheffield centre with free parking available.
About you:
Previous experience within a Team Leader role or senior role preferred. You must hold or be working towards an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the values and principles of Choice Support. They must understand the challenges faced by people and display commitment to supporting people to achieve their aspirations and improve wellbeing.
