Team Leader – Children's Residential Service
This Team Leader role offers a salary starting from £27,664 + additional Sleep In payment. In addition, there is a superb Benefits package.
The Role
As a Team Leader at our 6 bedded Children’s residential service in the heart of a residential community, you will be caring for children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, and may also have diagnosis of EBD, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs
Children accommodated may also be experiencing mental health, self-harming and are socially and emotionally delayed, through neglect and harm.
As a Team Leader, you will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children and young people. You will be shift leading, supervising staff members and allocating duties on shift in addition to providing direct support to the young people in your care.
Your role is also vital to the progression of children and young people. You will encourage them to develop new skills and to be the best that they can be. You must be sensitive to the needs of those in your care.
You will be working a mixture of early and late shifts, long days, and will need to be available to work every other weekend. There is also a requirement to do 1 x Sleep In per week. There is an additional payment made for this.
Qualifications / Experience
You must be able to demonstrate that you have:
NVQ 3 Diploma or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or in Residential Childcare or equivalent, and at least 2 years’ experience within a residential setting and ideally working towards your NVQ Level 5 Diploma
You will also have experience of working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs
Skills/Abilities
