Join our Homelessness and Prevention team as a Team Manager - Young People
The role
Salary: £34,120
Location: Lewisham
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm with flexibility required
Lewisham Young People is a partnership with LB Lewisham working with those aged between 16 - 21 years. The length of stay is 9 -12 months and classed as a medium needs service. The service is part of the existing LB Young Persons Pathway. Service users may be care leavers, homeless or at risk of homelessness.
As Team Manager you’ll operate in a busy, developing and sometimes challenging environment. You’ll have the autonomy to influence and evolve the service, alongside considerable scope for personal development - including the opportunity to complete management training and the possibility for progression within the group.
You will oversee the recruitment and supervision of Support Officers, Support Assistants, Specialists Support Officer, and Housing Administrator, as well as developing relationships with local partners and commissioners.
It’s an exciting opportunity to be involved in Homelessness and Prevention.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to motivate and lead a team.
- Have a good understanding of the issues facing vulnerable young people.
- Understand youth involvement and youth participation.
- Be self-motivated and willing to learn.
- Have a flexible approach to work and willingness to take on new tasks.
- Preferably have good local knowledge of Lewisham.
- Be able to travel around Lewisham
