Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to lead the Licensing and Trading Standards team in South London. This role demands a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of Trading Standards functions and the capability to manage a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of technical and administrative staff in delivering Trading Standards functions for the Council's joint service.
- Ensure the provision of high technical and professional standards, offering quality advice to the Council, its clients, partners, and the public.
- Act as the professional expert on Trading Standards matters, addressing complex and contentious issues.
- Manage, direct, and support licensing staff, overseeing the delivery of operational responses, actions, and plans.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Highly developed skills in planning, programming, monitoring, and delivering projects and programmes within stipulated timescales.
- Ability to quickly analyse and interpret intricate written, numerical, and financial data.
- Proven experience in fostering collaborative work environments, building effective teams, and nurturing relationships irrespective of hierarchy.
- A deep understanding of Licensing And Trading Standards functions and their support mechanisms.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing a regulatory services team, with connections to various related services, emphasising the achievement of clear outcomes.
- Proficient knowledge of Licensing and Trading Standards legislation.
- Experience in devising solutions to tackle intricate Trading Standards challenges.
