Technical Accountant

Your new company
Hays have partnered with this organisation who are looking for a Technical Accountant to join their team on a 12-month fixed term basis.
Your new role
As the Technical Accountant, you will be allocated to different projects, with a particular focus on research.
The key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with researching existing material on a given topic, including relevant literature, and assessing stakeholders' views on the project, using formal and informal means as appropriate throughout the project.
• Assisting with the analysis of proposals and decisions, as well as assisting with identifying issues and concerns and the development of solutions and technical arguments to support the analysis
• Preparing and presenting high-quality technical papers and revising as appropriate, within project deadlines.
• Preparing or providing input for impact assessments appropriate to the stage of the project.
• Helping prepare and participating in presentations to stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the position, you will:

• Be a Qualified Accountant with proven experience in a Technical Accounting/Research-based Accounting role
• Have knowledge of the financial reporting environment of listed companies and a demonstrable interest in IFRS.
• Have experience in technical accounting work or standard-setting, or relevant academic research
• Have good written and oral communication skills.
• Have the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with UK and international stakeholders.
• Have the ability to work as part of a team and deliver to tight deadlines.
