Technical Accounting & Governance Manager

We are currently collaborating with a prominent FTSE 250 organisation in the search for a dynamic Technical Accounting and Governance Manager. This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals aiming to transition into the industry, offering a unique blend of Technical Accounting responsibilities, business partnering and contract accounting. Reporting directly to the CFO of the business unit, this role provides a pivotal position with significant opportunities for professional growth. For the right candidate, this role offers:

GBP50,000 - GBP60,000 + hybrid working (2 days in the office and 3 from home) + excellent benefits and progression opportunities

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of Technical Accounting judgements and supporting documentation within the business unit finance function.
• Serve as the primary contact for shaping accounting positions related to new contract opportunities.
• Collaborate with the broader finance team to support the business unit through audit requirements.
• Engage in business partnering with stakeholders and various contacts across the organisation.
• Play an integral role as a member of the business unit finance team, contributing to the overall strategy, direction, and delivery of financial support.
• Identify governance and control weaknesses, implementing, monitoring, and supporting improvement actions.
• Undertake special projects as requested by the business unit CFO.
• Oversee both external and internal audit processes and procedures.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to prepare and present high-quality accounting papers to senior management and external auditors.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with a proven track record of collaboration at multiple levels within an organisation.
