Concept Artist - HIRING ASAP

Rate: £450 - £550 per day
Engagement: PAYE via Trust in SODA
Role Summary
- The Concept Artist is responsible for exploring and evolving artistic direction through visual development art, helping teams execute designs that will define the future of AR/VR. Our creative teams, spread across several exciting locations, are focused on creating content that invites users to engage in immersive, real-time experiences.
Responsibilities
- They are going to be concepting the vision of the future of work.
- Come up with an image, visualize ideas which are in text or verbal from leadership. They must visualize the worlds, the companies the virtual experiences.
- It's very strategic as the concept artist is the first one who visualizes the idea which was previously in text and that visualization will them be used to communicate to engineers, designers and they rely on the concept artist on what direction to take.
- Majority of their time drawing and creating visuals, they rely heavily on concept artists to create an appealing image hence they will also give feedback to the other artist (3d artist) on their visuals and some direction.
- Pitching their work to the wider teams effectively.
- Has a lot of impact as they can steer the direction of the products.
- Weekly meetings to track progress and brainstorm for the future projects.
- There are some business sessions they do on site so they may be a requirement for them to join these.
- They only have one concept artist right now, so this is a critical recourse for them to unblock a lot of the issues.
- Strong understanding of art pipelines including art creation processes (both 2D and 3D)
- They work on realist images and not stylized so experience on realist is important.
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of art pipelines, create visuals in 2D and 3D.
- 3D software packages - Maya, 3DsMax, Blender
- 10+ years' experience
- Shipped products in game development as a Concept Artist
- Ability to clearly articulate visual vision to a team of multidisciplinary contributors, Technical Artists, 3D artists, etc., to arrive at the desired visual goal.
- Ability to define and drive varied art styles, from stylised too realistic.
- Excellent knowledge of art and visual design principles and techniques relating to character and environment design.
- Strong understanding of art pipelines including art creation processes (both 2D and 3D), technology requirements and advancements, trade-offs, and challenges associated with development.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines and expectations.
