Job description

About Sunseeker International
Sunseeker founders dreamt of building a new kind of yacht. Breaking boundaries in early design, weve revolutionised the motor yacht industry since our conception in 1967. We've always set our sights on the top of the ladder, using our passion and drive to trailblaze with innovation and energy.

Expert minds and extraordinary attention to detail. Passed from generation to generation, these are the most valuable skills required to make our operation succeed. In an era of digital production and automated assembly, we stay committed to creating hand-built, hand-finished motoryachts, supported by Dorset's most innovative commercial minds.

Who are we seeking?
To support our recent company-record breaking investment into New Product Development (NPD), Sunseeker International is seeking a Technical Cost Control Estimator to join the team at our World Headquarters in Poole, Dorset.

Using their recent technical experience and knowledge of boat-building/construction, a Technical Cost Control Estimator will drive success against cost-related performance metrics. On a daily basis, you will provide detailed cost estimates for a range of the world-renowned Sunseeker vessels, including cost and work time estimates. As a Technical Cost Control Estimator, you will work closely with colleagues across various sites (including our vertically integrated Technology Centre) to ensure accurate costing and budgeting of New Product Development in support of the Design and Product Management functions and the full product lifecycle from a costing perspective.

Within this niche role, you will gain a unique opportunity to be fully involved in 'customer specials', holding your own piece of marine history as these market-leading innovations make their journey from idea to reality. You will work closely with Design, Production, and Sales to drive success and efficiency across the costing function, supporting product personalisation as a unique selling point of our globally admired products.

  • Reviewing, diagnosing and proposing solutions to cost overruns in actual production boats once launched, alongside the Project Management and Operational Finance teams;
  • Identifying cost saving opportunities through NPD activities, which could be rolled across existing products to leverage wider cost savings throughout the business;
  • Providing technical expertise to the Procurement team where required for strategic purchasing and contract negotiation activities;
  • Identifying and eradicating pricing issues within allocated alpha code areas, working with the BOM Controlling, Finance and Purchasing teams to increase master data accuracy;
  • Supporting 'customer special'/bespoke projects;
  • Supporting the Design department in material selection to maintain credible customer offerings and upgrades, while delivering design aesthetics and a logical cost and price offering;
