Moreabout your role
You will be joining the Placemaking &Regeneration (PMR) technical team, headed up by the Head ofTechnical, and as Technical Manager take primary responsibility forthe appointment and management of consultants. You will managevarious aspects of design from feasibility to construction acrossseveral developments or phases concurrently (from 100 to2000 homes) on sites located all over the UK.
Where main contractors are utilised and PMR takeon the development management role, the Technical Manager may berequired to input on all aspects of the technical role, primarilyfocusing on ensuring that main contractors' outputs are in linewith Places for People/PMRs expectations that include buildingcontrol compliance, Golden Thread information recording, planningcondition sign-off, sub-contractor design submissions andconsultant novation.
You will coordinate and manage theproduction of the working drawings, details, andspecifications from external consultants for onward distributionand discussion with internal departments. You will be responsiblefor ensuring clashes on drawings and layouts arehighlighted, specifications are adhered to and build type anddesign are scrutinised.
You may also be expected to play a lead role inthe design co-ordination and submission of detailed planningapplications.
We have hybrid working, so youwill be able to split your time between home, various sites acrossthe UK, and the office in London. Due to amount of travel involveda driving licence is required.

To applyfor this role, you must have experience as a DesignManager or a Technical Manager or as a Designand Build Manager. Experience working on designs for multi-tenure(affordable rent, PRS, market sale) complex constructionprojects would be advantageous. You will also requireknowledge of various construction methods, an expert knowledgeof building regulations and standards and CDM regulations. It wouldalso be advantageous if you have experience and knowledge of theplanning process and procedures.
