As Technical Manager, the purpose of your job will be to manage and continually improve food safety, legality and quality management and maintain these standards, customer requirements, UK legislation and due diligence.
Key tasks
- Oversee and maintain the QMS in accordance with the current version of the BRC Food Safety Global Standards, conduct HACCP & lead the HSACCP team effectively.
- Manage internal audits and supplier and customer audits and take corrective actions as well as conduct product inspections, quality control testing, and microbiological testing. Implement allergen risk management strategies.
- Evaluate and approve suppliers and raw materials and monitor their performance and manage non-conforming products to ensure traceability throughout the supply chain as well as the handling of complaints and implement necessary improvements.
- Oversee housekeeping, cleaning, and pest control activities and manage maintenance and calibration of equipment and ensure systems for foreign body detection and removal are in place and operational.
- Develop and maintain specifications for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, conduct utility testing and oversee chemical and physical contamination control measures.
- Monitor and control operations and maintain quality standards and update manuals inline with BRC changed and maintain Grade A status or above.
About You
The successful candidate shall have a bachelor’s degree in good sciences or a related field and proven experience in a similar food manufacturing industry based technical role. The Technical Manager job is based in Kent and is paying £45,000 to £50,000 per annum according to your experience.
