Technical Officer

£12.38 per hour
Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
MAIN PURPOSE
To be responsible for all technical aspects of applications pertaining to Grants and Energy Efficiency Schemes, including inspection of the property, preparation of a Schedule of works, costing, and recommending payment for completed works.
Key Responsibilities
1. To carry out a technical assessment of properties for which a grant application has been received, and prepare a costed schedule of works specifying items to be grant aided in accordance with PSIS Technical guidance, including completion of a Health and Safety file.
2. To prepare a standard solution and scheme design to meet the requirements of the Occupational Therapists recommendation for internal works required under Disabled Facilities Grants.
3. To consider the most satisfactory course of action in determining the type of grant and works to be carried out for all mandatory, discretionary and energy efficiency grants.

9. To provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion.
10. To ensure continued and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
11. To undertake the duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of NIHE.

12. To comply with and enforce all NIHE frameworks, policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to legal requirements such as equality, health and safety and information governance.
13. To direct and signpost managers and officers to the appropriate source for issues outside the remit of this post.
14. To undertake any other duties which may be assigned to meet organisational need and the change agenda and which are reasonably regarded as within the nature of the duties, responsibilities and grade of the post as defined.
