Salary: £38-55k+ (negotiable on experience), with performance-based bonus, health insurance, pension contributions, car allowance etc.

Hours: Monday – Friday (09:00-17:00)

Location: Flexible (min. 1/2 days in-person per week during probation, flexible after). Travel across Europe required

Job Title: Technical Sales Manager

Launched in 2018, Anstar is a rapidly expanding start-up in the speciality chemical distribution space. We have quickly gained prominence in the UV-curable raw materials market, including photoinitiators used in inks, coatings, adhesives, 3D printing and electronics.

We are seeking someone with a strong technical background and previous sales experience to strengthen our UV-curable business across Europe.


This role will offer an invigorating blend of challenges, a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to foster an entrepreneurial spirit. You will play a pivotal role in nurturing existing customer relationships while spearheading the growth of new business ventures.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:


> Support the company in its strategy to develop within the European market

> Maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, addressing inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service

> Pro-actively search for new customers in the European market

> Stay ahead of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential growth areas, customer demands, and emerging opportunities

> Assist with tracking sales performance, analysing key metrics, and preparing regular reports on sales activities and revenue forecasts

> Produce company presentations and assist in presenting to potential and current customers

> Assists with the production of technical presentations with the support of formulation and research teams

> Act as a brand ambassador at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, representing the company professionally, networking with key stakeholders, and promoting the company's products and services

> Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction

> Visit customers, distributors and suppliers as required

Essential requirements for the role:

> You have experience in B2B sales/ Technical Sales/ raw materials sales (5+ years), with strong business acumen

> You have a strong background in Chemistry (e.g., 1st/ 2:1 BSc/ MSc from a reputable university) and are technically proficient in this area

> You have an understanding of UV-curable technology (e.g., photoinitiators), some of the raw materials and downstream industries (coatings, inks, paints, adhesives etc.)

> You are able to conduct market analysis, marketing and sales planning

> You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have high interpersonal competence and negotiation abilities

> You are able to work independently under remote management (e.g., WFH)

> You can produce and help present client-ready presentations

> You are highly proficient in English, and are comfortable with technical terminology and documentation

> You are highly proficient in working with technology (laptops, phones) and Microsoft software (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

> Proficiency with CRM and ERP software

> You are willing to travel around the UK and Europe to meet customers when required

> You are willing to travel to the Leeds-based office (minimum) twice a week

Advantageous/desirable section

> Direct experience in UV-curing market or have a background in coatings/inks/paints

> Masters/ PhD in Chemistry (or related degrees)
