The Property & Facilities Services team are accountable for all aspects of the BT Global property portfolio which includes offices, operational exchanges, data centres, depots and specialist buildings. The portfolio extends to over 8,500 properties across the globe and we provide workplace facilities services to circa 100,000 colleagues globally. The cost of operating the portfolio including cumulo rates is circa £1Bn pa.
Through a deep understanding of Building Services and asset maintenance, ownership of the investment program across BT, the Technical Services Manager will be accountable for ensuring that property asset investment decisions are technically and commercially sound which will support the business in ensuring continued delivery of its products and services.

 

What you'll be doing 

•    Responsible for building assets maintenance and investment programmes across the BT workplace estate.
•    Accountable for investment plans that maintain a resilient and functioning BT workplace (powered assets).
•    Accountable for outsourced partner infrastructure survey schedules and reporting cycles.
•    Provide subject matter expertise in M&E asset maintenance and investment principles.
•    Assist in the execution of property plans and transactions including asset acquisitions and disposals.
•    Support property projects including assistance with the procurement of professional services, construction, fixtures and equipment.
•    Liaise with departmental representatives to support all relocations and management of relocation services.
•    Provide reports and ensure property related data is appropriately maintained in systems.
•    Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in service management.
•    Acts as the BT representative and expert for internal and external audits.

 

The experience you'll need

•    Experienced in Building Services with a strong awareness of M&E and Fabric systems to enable the business to make informed decisions about investments across the estate
•    Experience of managing planned and reactive maintenance
•    Demonstrable experience of risk based thinking and modelling.
•    Stakeholder engagement: able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders to fully understand and meet their needs.
•    Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences.
•    Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases).
•    Understanding of regulatory framework: knowledge of local regulatory framework to support the compliant delivery of workplace services.
