About The Role

Motability Operations are currently recruiting for a Technical Training Manager to join our team in Coalville on a full-time, permanent basis. As Technical Training Manager, your role involves ensuring that staff members receive the best training within the workplace. 
 
The successful candidate would be required to prepare targets for continued learning and training so that employees  continue to develop their skills and be responsible for identifying areas where additional training may be beneficial.  
 
Due to technological advancements, it would also be a requirement for the success candidate to ensure that staff members are capable of using the latest repair methods and equipment effectively, supporting Vehicle Solutions in its objective to prepare for sale, 50K vehicles per year, at the Coalville centre.
 
Key Responsibility’s are:
  • Conducting individual and team skills gap analysis.
  • Developing Technical Training courses for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced)
  • Ensure all new employees undergo basic Technical Training as required.
  • Liaise with industry experts and organize workshops and classroom-style training.
  • Measure improvements in employees’ job performance at the end of each course
  • Gather feedback from trainees and instructors and recommend suggestions to the learning process.
  • Manage training budget.
  • Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
  • Leads training themselves through in-person classes or online instruction.
  • Research new technologies and develop training courses to enhance current processes.
  • Support the onboarding and development of Apprentices, Trainees and Academy students. 
Whilst our Coalville site is undergoing refurbishment, your role will be based at Wymeswold Airfield, Prestwold Lane LE12 5SH.

About You

  • Proven work experience as a Technical Training Manager, Technical Trainer, or similar role
  • Experience in developing technical course content both for trainees and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical terms using simple language.
  • Patient and compassionate.
Minimum criteria:
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools
  • Additional certification in training (e.g., Certified Technical Trainer) is a plus but not essential.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • A flexible approach to working hours.
