Technician, Art And Design - 37 Hours Per Week, Term Time

This is a key post to support staff and students within the Art and Design department. Specialist knowledge of Graphic Design and Photography is desirable with knowledge of Adobe Suite, overseeing and maintaining our Mac and well-equipped photography studios. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to maintain work, study spaces and equipment to support students and staff. The successful candidate should also demonstrate that they are able to work well as part of a team. Furthermore, the successful candidate will prepare, set up and maintain equipment for classes and oversee its safe storage. They will be responsible for ordering and maintaining materials and provide advice on technical issues and occasionally give practical demonstrations to small groups of students. The appointed candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Anyone starting midway through the academic year will have their monthly salary slightly reduced, as staff need to have worked a certain length of time through the academic year to be able to receive continued payment through the summer, when you won't be expected to work. The actual figure would be calculated once a start date is confirmed. At the beginning of the next academic year the monthly salary will revert to 1/12th of the whole pro rata salary quoted.
