Technician In Fashion

Where you’ll work: This role is based at the College’s Tonbridge campus.

Your hours: 14.8 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.

Please note that we are flexible on the days / hours that you work, subject to meeting the needs of the department

Your pay: £9,379.60 per annum pro rata (£23,449 Full time equivalent)

The postholder will be responsible for providing technical support for the delivery of the fashion courses within the department. As well as preparing learning materials for practical sessions in the fashion workshops and providing technical assistance to the wider fashion departments when required.

You will be supporting garment production, and safe studio practice across the learning environment. This may include assisting in and delivering sewing machine workshop inductions, maintaining studios and specialist equipment, ordering & selling stock, first line maintenance and assisting other staff in their duties. You should have experience in the use of a range of industrial sewing machinery. Pattern cutting skills are desirable but not essential.

A good knowledge of IT is essential, such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), and Outlook. An adherence to Health & Safety safe working practices is also essential.
