Key duties:
- Working closely with clients to understand their requirements and develop their briefs.
- Produce feasibility reports for clients which fully consider statutory restrictions and client briefing from the outset.
- Prepare any necessary building regulations, planning applications, and Listed Building applications and monitor and deal with them as necessary by liaising with clients, other consultants, and relevant authorities.
- Prepare design drawings for competitive tender including production of working drawings and plans producing pre-tender estimates and obtaining costs from suppliers.
- Take ownership of/responsibility for matters arising from projects under control.
- Deliver technical and coordination aspects of projects under portfolio control and ensure excellence of delivery.
- Assist in developing scheme designs to detail the design stage.
- Liaise with sub-contractors, specialist suppliers, and other contractors as appropriate, including checking of drawings.
- Carry out measured surveys of buildings.
- Assist in project delivery during construction and attend site meetings as appropriate.
- Assist in and contribute to the regular review of activities to maximize effectiveness and delivery of working drawing packages.
- Provide technical input for preparation of BREEAM assessments, SBEM calculations, EPC’s etc, and integrate requirements into the drawings package.
Essential skills, experience, and attributes…
- Degree in Architectural Technology.
- MCIAT (or working towards the professional membership)
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience with Revit.
