We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Temporary Support Worker to join a service based in Erdington. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities and dual sensory impairment.
As a Temporary Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing personalized care and support. Your responsibilities will include assisting individuals with daily living tasks, promoting independence, facilitating social activities, and ensuring their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals with learning disabilities and dual sensory impairment.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and toileting, while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Support individuals in accessing community resources and participating in recreational activities.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and social interaction.
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and dual sensory impairment is preferred.
- Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) or Makaton is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including early shifts, late shifts and night shifts.
