Manpower Recruitment are recruiting for a Term-Time Catering Manager for an established School in Oxford.
The role is a Permanent position (working 39 weeks per year) and paying £26636-£28927pa depending on experience.
Main Purpose of the Role
To be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operation of all aspects of catering services within school.
Key Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for preparation, cooking and service of food in schoolAssist with the development of school policies and procedures relating to catering servicesPlan, operate and control the production and service of food-related duties, setting out programmes of work and supervising other catering staffDevise, plan and prepare balanced multi and/or limited choice menus with the cook(s), in accordance with nutritional standards, considering the dietary needs and preferences of pupils and varied cultural and religious backgrounds and that are cost within the allocated budgetsOrder food goods and other commodities from suppliers within the agreed school(s) catering budgetTake responsibility for the cleanliness of equipment, the kitchen and dining areas in schoolMaintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen in accordance with health and safety, food hygiene and COSHH regulations at all timesEnsure storage and management of food and other consumables in line with health and safety and hygiene regulations.Promote school meals to parents, students and staff, using school website, intranet and bulletins, ParentPay and any other agreed communication routesAssist in purchase of stock, stock take, food rotation proceduresManage cashless catering system, setting up new items for purchase on the system, training and support for team members in use of the tills and system (NRS and ParentPay)Liaise with other school staff to ensure smooth provision to students entitled to free school meals and pupil premium benefitsDemonstrate good standards of customer serviceAny other duties reasonably requested by your line manager
Occasional
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual catering budget
- Prepare and participate in special functions which may be outside normal working hours
- Prepare special dishes at the request of the school
- Instruct apprentices and other trainees in food preparation and kitchen management
