The main duties of the Theatre Practitioner - Scrub and Recovery role include:
- Function predominantly as a scrub practitioner, with the potential for occasional work as an anaesthetic practitioner following comprehensive training if necessary.
- Independently evaluate patient care needs and serve as a knowledgeable reference for fellow staff. Implement and assess patient care protocols to gauge their effectiveness.
- Facilitate effective communication with various departments such as Sterile Services, Wards, and the Imaging Department to ensure the efficient and seamless delivery of patient care.
- Uphold the maintenance of patients’ comfort, dignity, and privacy consistently and continuously.
- Adhere to established ethical and legal frameworks in both your personal practice and in supervising the practices of others.
- Provide secure and high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative phase. Also, support and aid in organising care within the Operating Department.
- Aid in providing patient care.
- Contribute to enhancing quality standards.
- Foster the growth of skills and knowledge in oneself and others.
- Implement and advocate for the adoption of the best evidence-based practices within one's own scope of practice.
What we are looking for in a successful candidate:
- Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
- An appropriate amount of experience in a theatre setting is desirable.
- 1st level Registered Nurse currently validated by NMC registration with Theatre expertise in scrub or recovery. Opportunities available for further training and professional growth.
