JOB TITLE: Toolmaker (Apprentice)
JOB TYPE: Apprentice, Full time, 4 years (follows Honeywell Internship programme)
LOCATION: Southend, UK

Summary of the role:

Press and mould repair toolmaker
We are actively recruiting for an apprentice toolmaker to join a world leading company who manufacture in the UK.
This is a position based solely at our Southend plant, covering on a day work basis a working pattern pattern of 7.45am till 4.15pm and 7.45am till 13.15pm on a Friday. You will join a multi-skilled team supporting manufacturing at this key site.
Role & Responsibilities

As a toolmaking apprentice, you will be involved with:

An opportunity to learn core machining skills under the watchful eye of your mentor.
Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on press and mould tools.
Providing engineering solutions when immediate spares aren't available (retrofitting, reverse engineering or modifying equipment).
Working in line with site tooling techniques and best practices and at all times complying with Health and Safety regulations.
Maintaining accurate maintenance and inspection logs.
Assisting in procurement of purchased spares.
You will attend a day release college course to bolster your practical skills as you develop them.

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following knowledge / qualifications:

Strong maths and English.
Comfortable with IT.
A keen interest in hands on engineering in a fast-moving production environment.
CAD experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
