Are you looking for a challenging and varied role? Are you a strong communicator? Are you organised with a real passion to make a difference? If that sounds like you, then you may be exactly who we are looking for!
An exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake the role of a Caseworker, within the Traffic Summons Team, based at Ashford Police Station.
This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidates to carry out a wide and varied range of administrative duties in relation to road traffic collisions and traffic offence allegations. This will include collecting evidence from victims and witnesses, liaising with reporting officers and carrying out further enquiries to gather all the evidence to ensure that cases are progressed within the statutory time limits. You will also be required to keep victims and witnesses informed and updated with the progress of the case.
You must be a good team player, receptive to change and be able to work well in a busy environment. You will need to demonstrate that you are highly organised and capable of planning and prioritising your work to ensure that deadlines are achieved which is vital in this role. You will have excellent keyboard skills, outstanding customer service skills and be comfortable and confident in both making and receiving internal and external telephone calls. Excellent communication skills are essential as communication with members of the public including defendants, victims and witnesses, police officers and Court and CPS officials is a key component of the day-to-day responsibilities. Previous experience of using Athena and PNC computer programmes would be desirable, although full training can be provided.
This opportunity would suit individuals who can prioritise and plan their workload. The successful candidate will be able to influence working processes and identify best practice to ensure a high level of service is provided and maximum efficiencies are achieved.
The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home for those who would like to. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend a designated ‘Team Zone’ location on average one or two days a week, as agreed with the line manager. Currently the designated Team Zone for this role is located at Ashford Police Station.
