Location: Hybrid / Oxford
Due to significant business growth, organically and through acquisitions, we are looking for a Trainee Accounts Assistant, with an initial focus on treasury. As the applicant progresses through their qualification, compliance tasks will become more readily available.

The successful applicant will have/be:

Treasury
- Office bank account reconciliations and ensuring the balances are sufficient
- Foreign currency account reconciliations
- Client account reconciliations
- Petty cash reconciliations
- Daily checking of company bank balances and ensuring sufficient funds available
- Credit card portal management
- Setting up client account payments
- Banking of cash and cheques received
- Provide ad hoc support and holiday cover to the Accounts Assistant with the following tasks:
- Setting up of weekly payment runs
- Setting up ad hoc payments
- Verifying supplier bank details
- Trading bank account reconciliations
Compliance
- Preparation of various VAT returns for review by the Financial Accountant
- Complete CIS return submissions
- Complete ONS and other government and regulator reporting
Training will be provided and further compliance responsibilities will become available as the applicant progresses through their qualification.
Experience and Skills Required: Essential
- Good academic results to GCSE and preferably A-Level
- An appetite to progress and study towards an accounting qualification (AAT, with pathway to chartership through ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- A good working knowledge of Excel
Desirable
- Knowledge of Sage 200 and other relevant ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite
