A hard working, forward thinking and reliable team player is required for a private dental practice. The successful candidate will be a quick thinking, organised and enthusiastic about patients. This is a demanding job which requires someone with a great work ethic and a professional, friendly nature. We are looking for a trainee who will receive continual support at work in clinical competencies whilst working towards their dental nursing qualification. The practice will support you through the entire course, allowing you time to study, work and earn your qualification.
Duties include:
- Reception duties, supporting patients in booking appointments working with D+ software (training to be provided) to be 'front of house'
- Chair side assistance along with the dentist
- Ensure high standards of patient care are maintained at all times
- Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment
-Prepare clinic appropriately for treatment
- Ensure that all necessary materials within the dental surgery are stocked up daily
- Understand and adhere to cross-infection procedures at all times
- Record patient's dental condition and treatment as required using computer software
- Provide support and reassurance to patients undergoing dental procedures
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
Hourly Rate: £5.28 in line with national apprentice wage regulations-this will be for the first 3 months then National Min. wage with us and upon qualification a competitive rate will be discussed.
Hours: Monday-Friday: 8:45 -17.30
Applicants must have GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths at C grade or above.

Experience: • Healthcare: 1 year (preferred)
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare patients for treatment and explain procedures to them
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including medical coding and documentation
- Take and record vital signs of patients
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment system
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a dental assisting program or relevant certification
- Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and equipment
- Proficiency in medical coding and documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
