The Role:
The Fund Accounting Department is comprised of a number of different functions responsible for Daily Net Asset Value (NAV) Production, Taxation and Statutory and Financial Statements reporting services for a range of fund types including UK Open ended Investment Companies, Unit Trusts, UK administered Luxembourg SICAVs, Investment Trusts and Life & Pension funds.
The Fund Accounting team within the UK Fund Services department act as the guardians of all UK Open Ended Fund Accounting, Investment Trust Accounting and Investment Accounting. The team are responsible for the NAV control framework to ensure timeliness and accuracy of external NAV service delivery to all UK clients as well as valuation and reporting services for Pension, Insurance and Sovereign Wealth Clients. A further key output from the Fund Accounting team is validated fund trial balance data to ensure smooth transition to the financial reporting production process and provision of data to external auditors & trustees.
The purpose of the role is:
- To support the provision of data and analytical information across all aspects of Fund Accounting client delivery including:
- Client Service
- Process Change
- Controls and Governance
- Third party relationship management
- To contribute to the data gathering needed for the review and ongoing development of the department’s target operating model inclusive of outsourcing solutions.
- To assist in producing documentation which will aid decision making such as process flows and data mapping.
- To document control information and compile evidence that demonstrates adherence to our control environment for external and internal audit purposes.
- To produce Management Information which will assist with stakeholder management.
Main duties will include:
Client Service Quality, Risk and Control
- Data manipulation and analysis mostly using MS Office tools.
- Produce Management Information
- Support Client Delivery team to meet client deliverables.
Governance
- Produce documentation and process flows to outline the control framework within the department
- Complete control questionnaires and collate samples to evidence our adherence to documented controls
- Monitor timetable of governance requirements and help collate information to meet these requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Complete Records of Governance and produce packs to evidence stakeholder management
- Assist with the collation of data and information on 3rd party relationships
Liaising with Key internal stakeholders
