Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Telecoms Quantity Surveyor to provide back office commercial support as well as be a conduit that strengthens the relationship between Operations and the rest of the business. Mainly office based but providing support across all departments of our fast-paced telecommunications environment.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of Schedule of Rates (SOR), sales vs cost, and system processes, as well as be able to break down drawings to ensure sales are captured and in line with our client contracts.
This is a varied role in a fast-paced environment that has the chance to grow, adapt, and make improvement across all departments, so ideally, we are looking for someone who is not afraid of change, likes a challenge and will work as part of a team to meet our objectives.
This exciting role will include regular client communication, so excellent oral and written communication skills are essential to build up good relationships and always show the company in a good light.
The Quantity Surveyor working with the Head of Commercial would be responsible for:
- Subcontractor Self Billing and commercial liaison
- Client management, engagement, and application for payments
- Monitoring Work in Progress
- Weekly Management reports to show turnover by contractor and analysis on performance.
- Retention Management
- Compensation Event Management.
- Review stores and logistics against rate cards and influence any possible improvement on the margins
About the Candidate
Although previous experience in Telecoms would be advantageous, training will be given and a strong process driven mind/background with a willingness to work hard and care about what you do is what we are looking for. We would welcome applicants with the following skills & expertise:
- Excellent IT Skills. Especially Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of Schedule of Rates and Commercials
- Report Analysis
- Previous experience working part of a team
- Strong process, presentation, and communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
