What is the job role?This is an exciting and interesting career opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Environmental Services Team and work in partnership with Human Resources. The role is to identify, deliver and support development opportunities in order to meet business objectives as determined within the One Coventry Council Plan and the Services’ Operational Plan.
The main duties of the role will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Be responsible for the coordination, promotion, and delivery of learning and Development interventions across our teams.
To work closely with the Council's Corporate Learning & Development Lead to ensure that statutory and mandatory training is delivered in line with legislative requirements.
Ensure that training needs are continually reviewed and refreshed, in accordance with the Coventry City Council and service priorities.
Work in partnership across our teams to identify knowledge and skills and monitor Training and Development attendance and compliance.
Maintain a training database and ensure when planning training that it will add value and have a positive impact for employees and the services we provide to the people in Coventry.
Who are we looking for?We are looking for someone who wants to make a real difference for our employees by maintaining and improving the Training and Development opportunities across our teams.
As well as using your own initiative, you'll be able to work well as part of a team. Working accurately and meeting deadlines and targets, you'll have a willingness to learn new skills, and be flexible to meet the team’s needs. You will have experience of implementing a range of learning and Development tools and techniques and a good understanding of ICT systems such as Excel, Sharepoint, Office 365 and presentation packages.
You must be someone who is able to manage and prioritise their workload to meet challenging deadlines with a high level of verbal, written communication and presentational skills.
You will be organised, self-motivated and passionate about improving processes for employees to assist them to deliver the best services for Coventry people.
