Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager on a 12 month fixed contract to cover maternity leave.
The position we are looking to fill will require the right candidate to start early February based out of a busy transport office in Bedford, Bedfordshire.
We are looking for someone who is driven, focused, customer orientated as well as commercially & industry aware. A good geographical knowledge is essentialalong with previous experience in a transport management role. Experience in compliance and FORS is mandatory as well as an International CPC qualification.
You must have excellent communication and negotiating skills. Previous experiance as aTransport Manager is essential.
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic transport team helping to take the business forward and promote organic growth along the way. They would be expected to comunicate with a wide and diverse group of stakeholders essential to the smooth running of the business. A hands on approach is a must to work alongside a large group of drivers, therefore experience in a similar field is essential for this role.
Our ideal candidate must be of strong character and be able to work independantly as a key part of an existing transport team. Attention to detail, with strong planning and organisational skills is cruitial along with excellent time and work management.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who can adapt quickly to change, someone who is proactive and self motivated who can work under pressure whilst producing work of a high standard.
The transprt manager will be responsible for around 40 comercial vehicles which are all articulated. The role also includes raising purchase orders, record keeping and assistance in disciplinary procedures.
This is a fixed 12 month contract but is a fantastic oportunity to broaden your existing skills joining an established business that are market leaderxs in their field.

Key responsibilities will include:
- promoting positive HSE culture
- managing investigations into operational incidents
- seeking continuous improvements in all areas of performance including vehicle utilisation and running effciencies, repair and maintenance spend, training and complaince.
- monitoring vehicle defect and driver infringements
- keep a clean and well-maintained fleet and monitor driver standards
- oversee administrative responsibilities for the department, rotas, disciplinaries, holidays, absenteeism, recruitment etc.
