Transport Planner

Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £35,000 + Commission on new customers
Summary:
At Bis Henderson, we are looking for a Transport Planner, with a Sales focus, to join a growing transport and logistics company. The role focuses on the planning and operation of our Client's fleet of vehicles. The Transport Planner will deliver first-class customer service to maximise vehicle utilisation. They will also have a Sales focus, able to maintain strong relationships with existing customers, but also develop relationships with new customers through searching for new potential sales opportunities. The ideal candidate would have previous experience as a Transport Planner, with excellent interpersonal skills able to build and maintain existing and new customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create the daily vehicle plan.
* Brief drivers, ensuring that they have the correct paperwork.
* Manage customer relationships and look for opportunities to grow new customer relationships.
* Maintain driver and depot communication, liaising with customers and ensuring the smooth operation of the fleet.
* Complete all associated documentation and liaise with the Compliance Manager regarding regular maintenance for the fleet.
Experience:
* Experience working as a Transport Planner, within a fast-paced environment managing a medium-sized fleet.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective Clients.
* A solid understanding of TMS and Microsoft packages.
* Experience communicating with and monitoring drivers.
* Knowledge of tachograph regulations and driver hours
