Job description
An international family are looking for a UK-based Travelling Nanny and a qualified tutor/governess (two roles are being offered) to join their family. You can be based anywhere in the UK, but you must be willing to travel extensively across the UK, Europe and the World. All travel and separate accommodation will be provided as part of the package.
Package Offered
£100,000 - £120,000+ gross per year depending on experience, the family will be willing to negotiate for the very best talent
Separate accommodation will be provided when travelling with the family
You should be willing to travel extensively and spend the majority of your working time abroad.
Client Background
The clients are a HNW family and their main residence is in Shanghai, China. The couple have two sons aged 5 years old and 6 years old who attend full-time school in Shanghai. The boys are very focused on their education and they are preparing to enrol into a UK school. The family travels to the UK, Europe and the World frequently and they are looking for an experienced Travelling Nanny and a qualified tutor/governess who can effectively address the educational and social development of the boys when they travel.
Duties
To apply for this role you must either:
1. Be an experienced nanny who has worked extensively with families throughout their professional life
Or
2. Be a qualified teacher/governess with previous working experience in British schools and teaching qualifications.
Your primary responsibility is the educational and social development of the children. You are also expected to be one of the children’s main caregivers. You will work with other members of staff, including tutors and nannies, to ensure the children are properly looked after, engaged and learning.
You will be responsible for ensuring the children are well looked after at all times, and help further their spoken and written English (to include grammar and English etiquette) and all other educational needs.
The family values complete confidentiality and are very private. You are expected to respect this, understand boundaries and be discreet at all times.
Key responsibilities:
Furthering the children’s spoken and written English, along with teaching English etiquette.
Helping the children achieve their developmental and academic targets.
Helping to cultivate confidence, creativity and appropriate risk-taking.
Helping the children practise making moral decisions, and learning exemplary manners and courtesy.
Following the children’s curriculum and tutoring in the appropriate subjects.
Helping create a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children.
Looking after the children’s health and well-being.
Keeping the children’s areas tidy.
Communicating regularly with the parents about the children’s schedule and progress.
Assisting with packing luggage for the children.
Educating the parents regarding childcare and providing parental guidance and support as needed.
Keeping the other members of the team up to date with the children’s progress and performing a handover with the other team members when required.
Location/Accommodation
The family live in Shanghai, China and they travel to the UK, Europe and the World frequently. When you travel with the family, all accommodation, travel arrangements and expenses will be covered. Travelling on both commercial and private jets.
Days/Hours
Working an average of 50 hours per week
Accompanying the family when they travel
When they are not travelling, you will liaise with the other members of staff to ensure the children are looked after
In between working days/hours, you may return to the UK (if the work schedule or location allows) otherwise you will stay locally with the Family in the immediate area.
Languages
You must speak English fluently as the family require the highest level of English to be spoken and taught to their children.
Special Skills
You should be a skilled and experienced nanny or have teaching qualifications. Previous experience with children of a similar age is a must.
